WESTPORT, MA – June M. (Ameen) Feitelberg, 66, of Westport, MA, passed away unexpectedly at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River Tuesday, December 30, 2008. She was the life partner of Richard T. Teves of Westport, MA, and the former wife of Morris M. Feitelberg of Middletown, RI. June was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Emil “Smokey” Ameen and the late Lena (Assiff) Oliveira. She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School.

Mrs. Feitelberg had a forty-year career with corporations such as New England Telephone, Charlton Memorial Hospital and Tasca Lincoln Mercury. She was the founder of the Emil “Smokey” Ameen Memorial Scholarship at the University of Massachusetts Visual and Performing Arts College, in memory of her father, a long-time and well known member of the staff at the Venus de Milo in Swansea, Massachusetts. June was a communicant of Holy Name Church in Fall River. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, a very generous caregiver, a great listener, and devoted friend, as well as a true lady in every sense of the word.

Survivors besides her life partner and former husband, are a daughter, Lisa (Feitelberg) Costa and her husband Bruce Costa of Westport, MA; a sister, Donna Morris of Fairhaven, MA; two brothers, Robert Ameen of Fall River, MA, and Wayne Ameen of Worcester, MA. She was the devoted grandmother of Matthew John Feitelberg of Tiverton, RI, as well as many friends. She was the mother of the late Frank S. Feitelberg, II.

Funeral Information

A funeral mass for June will be celebrated Saturday, January 10, 2009, at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
