Earl Russell King 84, of Bristol, RI, formerly of Taunton, MA. passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017. at the West Roxbury Veterans Hospital. He had been a resident at the RI Veterans Home, in Bristol, RI, where he lived for the last 4 years.
Born in Mansfield, MA, son of the late Harry Kent and Eldora (Snow) King. Growing up in Mansfield, Earl served in the US Army during the Korean War. Returning to Taunton where he raised his family and owned and operated Earl King’s service station. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, stock car racing, boating, and single engine planes.
Earl is survived by his three daughters; Debra Cardullo and her husband Peter of E. Greenwich, RI; Kelly King of Fukui, Japan, and Jennifer O’Neil and her husband Stephen of Walpole, MA; a son: Randall S. King of Berkley; six grandchildren, Deric King, Randall King Jr, Jordan Cardullo, Stephen, Eve and Patrick O’Neil; three great-grandchildren; two former wives: Barbara (Cardoza) McCarthy of Berkley and Vitalina (Avelino) Patten of Peabody. He was also the father of the late Earl “Russ” King, Jr, and the brother of the late Arthur King, Eddie King. and Mae A. King.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 10 am – 12 noon, followed by a Funeral Service at 12 noon in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home , 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton. Burial to follow with Military Honors in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
