View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FALL RIVER – David J. Zygiel, 66, of Fall River, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Edward and Dora (Goucher) Zygiel, he was the husband of Joyce M. (McCoy) Zygiel, to whom he was married forty-four years.
Mr. Zygiel worked for the former Globe Manufacturing Company in Fall River for twenty-six years as a materials handler. He then worked at Duro Manufacturing for several years, retiring in 2004. He was a well-known pool player in the community, and enjoyed scuba diving, gardening.
In addition to his wife, My. Zygiel leaves a son, David J. Zygiel of Portsmouth, RI; a best friend, Joseph Lopes of Fall River; a sister, Ruth McLeod of New York City; a brother, Robert A. Zygiel of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
His funeral will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 9:00AM from the HATHAWAY HOME for FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, 1335 N. Main St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 10, from 4:00-7:00PM in the funeral home.
