Robert A. Whittles

July 29, 1933 - October 17, 2006

Robert A. Whittles., 73, of Windham Center in Connecticut passed away Tuesday October 17, 2006 at his residence. He was the husband of Frances L. (Fish) Whittles. He was born in Fall River, MA on July 29, 1933, the son of the late Warren Whittles and Esther (Allen) Whittles of East Weymouth, MA.

He was a graduate of Weymouth High School class of 1951, and Boston University in 1954 while in school served with National Guard. Mr. Whittles worked as an academic administrator for the University of Connecticut for twenty years and with Boston University for sixteen years before retiring in 1995. He was a member of Holy Nativity Church in South Weymouth, MA for many years.

Survivors beside his wife and mother are two daughters Robyn Murphy of Pembroke, MA Tiffany Whittles of Carver, MA two sons Bruce Whittles of Martha's Vineyard, MA Mark Whittles of Swansea, MA two sisters Judith Anne Pearce of East Weymouth, MA Shirley Esther Morrison of South Weymouth, MA six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral Information

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11am in the Assonet Burying Ground in Assonet, MA Relatives and friends are invited to attend. All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA.
