Ernest S. Rebello

SWANSEA – Ernest S. Rebello, 74, of Swansea, died on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. Born in Warren, RI, the son of the late Joseph Rebello and the late Alice (Souza) Bernier, he was the husband of Ruthann (Mello) Rebello, to whom he had been married for fifty years.

Mr. Rebello enlisted in the United States Air Force and worked as a jet engine mechanic for twenty years, earning the rank of Tech Sergeant. Mr. Rebello was honorably retired from the Air Force in 1972. Following his military service, he worked as a credit manager for the W. T. Grant department store in Woonsocket for several years as well as the Cabot House furniture store (formerly Masons Furniture) for seventeen years. While he was working as a civilian, he attended Bristol Community College where he received his Associates degree in Business Administration in 1981. He was a communicant of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Swansea.

Besides his wife, Mr. Rebello leaves a daughter, Susan A. Sevigny of Somerset; a son, Matthew J. Rebello of Swansea; and five grandchildren, Pamela, Deanna, Sarah, Emma, and Andrew.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 9, 2007, at 10:00AM in Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial with Military Honors will be private at the request of his family.
