Brian Ridley, 58, of Taunton, passed away, on September 13, 2013, at his home with his family by his side, the same day his mother passed away at Morton Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Souza) Ridley.

Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Flynn) Ridley and the late Lewis Ridley. Mr. Ridley was employed with Bristol County Agricultural High School as a Maintenance Supervisor.

Mr. Ridley belonged to many clubs including, 4-H Club, NE Roller Club, NE Bantam Club, National Call Breeders Assoc., American Bantam Assoc., and the Bay State Beagle Club for over 40 years. He had many friends who belonged to these clubs, and had many good times with his friends and family. Family was very important to Brian. He loved to show the younger generation the joy of hunting and fishing and the great outdoors. Brian raised sheep, rabbits, chickens, ducks, beagles, and loved hunting and fishing.

Besides his wife of 20 years, he leaves a stepson, Steven Souza of Taunton, he was the brother of Jeffrey Ridley and his wife Charlene, Susan Machado and her husband Ronald all of No. Dighton and Robert Ridley of Taunton. He was the uncle of Laura Souza, Jennifer Bradley, Jill Ridley and Thomas Machado. He leaves great-neices & nephews who were his very best friends, Mallye Hutchins, Zack Souza, Ben Souza, TJ Souza, Nathan Bradley and Jack Bradley.

Funeral Information

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, from 3 to 7 pm, with a funeral service to begin at 7 pm in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Brianís memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the NE Organ Bank of MA.
