DARTMOUTH – Lucy H. (Donovan) Moore, 87, formerly of Sutton Street, New Bedford, died Monday, August 30, 2010, at Sunrise of Dartmouth after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Ralph E. Moore. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Timothy and the late Hannah (McCarthy) Donovan, she lived most of her life in the city. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in New Bedford. A graduate of New Bedford High School and the nursing program at the Peabody Home for Crippled Children, Mrs. Moore later worked for many years for the City of New Bedford’s Election Commission until her retirement thirty years ago. She is survived by a sister, Agnes L. Couture of Somerset; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Moore was the sister of the late Daniel, Anna, and Mary Donovan and Katherine Wilson. Funeral InformationHer funeral will be Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 8:30 AM from THE DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 283 Mill St., New Bedford. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 11:30 AM. Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 1, from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home.
