Lillian E. (Beland) Jacques

ATTLEBORO–Lillian E. (Beland) Jacques, 85, of Pike Ave., Attleboro, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at the Philip Hulitar Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island. Born in Attleboro, a daughter of the late Arthur E. & Rose (Beauregard) Beland, she was the wife of the late Wilfred M. Jacques.

Lillian was employed as a bookkeeper for over nineteen years for the office of Neil E. Jacques, CPA. A lifelong Attleboro resident, she was a former parishioner of St. Joseph Church. She had played the drums in the Attleboro Drum and Bugle Corps, during WWII. Ms. Jacques was a volunteer at Sturdy Memorial Hospital for many years, and was a Pink Lady at the hospital as well. She enjoyed making clothing, sewing, stitching, and needlework; she was also a welcome participant in her family’s lives, always helping her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Neil E. Jacques of Sarasota, Florida; three daughters, Katherine Ann Jacques of Londonderry, NH, Jean Gay Burnstein of Riverside, RI, and Judy Kay Beckman of Jamestown RI; as well as by a sister, Rita V. McGee of Venice, Florida. She was the grandmother of thirteen, the great grandmother of seven, and the great-great-grandmother of two. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Wilfred G. Jacques and the late Donald R. Jacques, and she was the sister of the late Rose Fontaine and the late Jean Beland.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Monday, February 8, 2010, at 9:30am from THE FOLEY - HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro, Massachusetts, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St. Joseph’s Church, 208 South Main St., Attleboro, with burial to follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Sunday afternoon, February 7, 2010, from 1:00 – 4:00pm in the funeral home.
