View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FAIRHAVEN – Idalina "Ida" Airozo, 95, of Fairhaven, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, in Our Lady’s Haven, where she had been a resident for many years. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Augustine and Maria (Ramos) Airozo, she settled in Fairhaven in 1971 and lived at McGann Terrace before relocating to the Haven. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fairhaven.
Miss Airozo worked as a stitcher at Calvin Clothing for twenty-one years until her retirement in 1976.
She is survived by three nephews, Paul, James and David Airozo and a niece, Maryanne Rudziensky. Miss Airozo was the sister of the late Mary A. Gil, Izaura A. Pires and John Airozo.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at 9:00AM from THE FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 3, from 4:00-7:00PM in the funeral home.
