Shirley H. Parkinson

View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Shirley H. Parkinson, 86, died Sunday, November 13, 2005 in the Grand Islander Nursing Home. Born April 12, 1919 in New Bedford the daughter of the late Edward and Phoebe (Heap) Parkinson, she grew up in New Bedford before moving to Middletown in 1945.
Miss Parkinson graduated from New Bedford High School and then went on to attend the Salvation Army Training College in New York City. She later retired as a Major from the Salvation Army.
She is survived by a niece, Barbara Black on Aston, PA and a nephew, Richard Parkinson of New Bedford and several great nieces and nephews. Miss Parkinson was the sister of the late Verdie Parkinson and the late Dorothy Cocker.
Funeral Information
Her funeral service will be Friday, November 18, 2005 at 10:00 AM in the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston. Calling hours are Friday, Novemvber 18, 2005 from 9-10 AM.
