Barbara A. (Jachna) LaBrie

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Barbara A. (Jachna) LaBrie, 63, of Alexandria, VA, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Alexandria Hospital. Born in Fairhaven, the daughter of the late Walter and the late Mary R. (Cybulski) Jachna, she was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and Bay Path College.

Ms. LaBrie was employed by the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC, for many years until her recent retirement. She also served in Europe with the CIA, and traveled extensively in the area. She was an avid supporter of several museums in the Washington D.C. area, along with various cultural organizations, and was an active member of the Arlington (VA) Seniors.

She is survived by a brother, Walter Jachna and his wife Eileen of Newport, RI, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Thursday, March 20, 2008, at 8:30AM from THE FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven, followed by a Blessing and Final Commendation at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, Fairhaven. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery #2, New Bedford. Calling hours will be omitted.
