View Tribute and Sign Guestbook ATTLEBORO – James F. Foley, 68, of South Avenue, Attleboro, died Monday, February 19, 2007, at home. Born in Arlington, MA, December 15, 1938, a son of the late Michael L. and Virginia A. (Picard) Foley, he was the former husband of Linda R. (Riley) Blodgett of Pawtucket, R.I.
Mr. Foley served with the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant for sixteen years. Following his Army service he served as a correctional officer at the Walpole State Prison for two years, and then worked as a machine operator at the former Texas Instruments Company in Attleboro for many years before retiring. In his retirement Mr. Foley drove for Houle’s City Cab in Attleboro. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 20, the Gilbert Perry VFW in Attleboro, as well as the Harold A. Healey VFW in Norton, MA.
Besides his former wife, Mr. Foley leaves one son, Christopher S. Foley of Pawtucket; and one daughter, Stacy Marie DiNapoli of Middleboro, MA; two brothers, John Foley of Maine, and Alfred Foley of Attleboro; two sisters, Mary Alstrom of Alpine, CA, and Barbara Benevides of East Providence, R.I.; four grandchildren, Kali, Nicholas, Christopher and Mackenzie; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joan Dempsey and Helen Giovaniello.
Funeral Information
His funeral will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2007, at 9:00AM from THE FOLEY-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main St. (Route 152), Attleboro, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main St., Attleboro. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at 12:45PM in The Massachusetts National Cemetery, McArthur Drive, Bourne, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be held on WEDNESDAY from 4:00-8:00PM in THE FOLEY CHAPEL.
