Evelyn Gagne

Evelyn (Gracia) Gagne, 74, of New Bedford died Thursday, March 16, 2006 in the Hallmark Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Rene F. Gagne.
Born April 23, 1931 in New Bedford the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Arrujo) Gracia, she lived in Fairhaven before moving to New Bedford in 1991. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene on Hathaway Road in New Bedford.
Mrs. Gagne graduated from Fairhaven High School. She later worked for 23 years as an office manager for Marlils Industries.
She is survived by a son, Mark Gagne and his wife Diane of New Bedford; a step daughter, Kathleen Short and her husband David of New Bedford; five sisters, Lillian Gracia of New Bedford, Josephine Leal of New Bedford and formerly of Plymouth, Irene Soares of New Bedford, Elsie Barreiro of New Bedford and Hilda Desrosiers of New Bedford; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the step mother of the late David Gagne and the sister of the late Alvrina Perry.

Funeral Information

Her funeral service will be Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 10:30 AM in the First Church of the Nazarene, New Bedford. Interment will be follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Arrangements are by the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven. Calling hours will be Monday, March 20, 2006 from 4-7 PM in the FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven.
