FALMOUTH – Diane L. (Kelsey) Carhart, 63, of Forestdale, died Monday, March 5, 2007, from injuries sustained in a car accident. She was the wife of the late Lloyd T. Carhart and the former wife of Dr. John T. Everett of Arlington, VA. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Louise E. (Spooner) Kelsey of Mattapoisett and the late Philip H. Kelsey, Sr., she lived most of her life in Mattapoisett until moving to Sandwich twelve years ago. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Fairhaven. Mrs. Carhart was the manager of the children’s gift store at the Plimoth Plantation. She was a 1961 graduate of Fairhaven High School and attended a travel and tourism school from which she graduated with honors in Annapolis, MD. Mrs. Carhart was a volunteer at VA Hospitals in VA, CA and MD and the American Red Cross in VA and FL. She was on the Governor’s Council for Foster Children in Annapolis, MD, and enjoyed her daily trips to the canal to watch the boats. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog, an Affenpinscher, Tissy, and her cat, Cricket. She is survived by her mother and former husband; a son, John Edward Philip Everett and his wife Jennifer of Williams, AZ; a daughter, Susan L. Linhares and her husband Frank, Jr. of Mattapoisett; a step-son, Robert Carhart and his wife Brigette of Annapolis, MD; three stepdaughters, Patricia Collins and her husband Tim of Concord, Laura Smith and her husband Steven of Somerville and Virginia Carhart of Seattle, WA; three brothers, Philip, Robert and Gregory Kelsey; three grandchildren, Sean and Steven Everett and Timothy Collins; and six nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Mrs. Carhart was the mother of the late John P. Everett. Funeral InformationHer funeral service will be Saturday, March 10, 2007, at 10:00AM in the First Congregational Church in Fairhaven, followed by cremation. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3:00-7:00PM in the FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main St., Fairhaven.
