View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Doris M. Walker, 85 of New Bedford died Friday, October 13, 2006 after a brief illness in St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford.
Born in Rochdale, Lancashire, England, the daughter of the late Wilfred and the late Effie A. (Stirling) Walker, she came to America in 1923 and lived most of her life in New Bedford. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in New Bedford.
Miss Walker was a supervisor in the garment industry for 41 years retiring from States Niteware as a supervisor. She was a member of the Buttonwood Seniors and enjoyed her trips with them.
She is survived by her loving nephew, Richard Walker and his companion Suellen Aiken of Mattapoisett; two great nieces, Carin Walker-Courtney and her husband Tony of Texas and Janice Laflamme of New Bedford; two great great nephews, Logan and Ethan Courtney and a great great niece, Hannah Courtney all of Texas and a Godchild, Dorothy K. Nelson of New Bedford. Miss Walker was the companion of the late William Hill and sister of the late Fergusen Walker.
Funeral Information
Her funeral service will be Wednesday at 8:30AM in the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford followed by interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford. Calling hours are Tuesday from 2-4 PM.
