Evelyn Nickerson

Evelyn (Hacket) Nickerson, 93, passed away in Taunton on December 5, 2005. Born in Taunton daughter of the late George and Elsie (Jones) Hackett,Sr.

Educated in Taunton schools she was know for walking to work in East Taunton and for walking at least 5 miles a day. During WW II she was a Red Cross Volunteer and then worked at Eureka Manufacturing Co and at the former Ellie Higgins-Goodnow's Store on Main St in Taunton. She attend the Union Congregational Church in Taunton was active in their activites.

She was the widow of Lyndon Nickerson and is the mother of Nancy Patterson of Chatham and her husband Kevin and Bruce Nickerson and Susan Segel of Moneta,VA and Mt Dora,FL; grandmother of Seth and Noel Nickerson ,Steffi Patterson, Jennifer Berins and Melissa Segel; sister of Sherwood Hackett of Frederick,MD and Marjorie Altman of Port St Lucie,FL and the late George Hackett, Raymond Hackett, Eleanor Snow and Reta Hills.

Funeral Information

A funeal service, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave.,(Route 138 South) Taunton on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 1PM. Interment in Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton.
