Mildred "Millie" Eldon

Mildred "Millie" (Crompton) Eldon., 80, of Sandy Point Road in Somerset passed away Monday February 6, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River she was the wife of fifty-seven years to Hiram Eldon. Born in Fall River, MA on March 6, 1925 the daughter of the late Robert and Esther (Nichols) Crompton She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High school class of 1944. Mrs. Eldon then worked in the Beauty department as a hairdresser at the former RA McWhirr’s in Fall River for several years, she then went to work for the Somerset school department for eighteen years as a cafeteria worker and retired in 1980. She was a very active member of the Christian Congregational Church in Somerset for many years and a former member of the Union Methodist Church in Fall River and the Somerset Methodist Church. Mrs Eldon volunteered at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, and enjoyed crafts, cake baking and decorating.
Survivors beside her husband of fifty seven years are a daughter Susan J. Woodbury of Uxbridge, MA two sons Eric G. Eldon of Orange County, California and David W. Eldon of Somerset, MA a brother Raymond Crompton of North Kingstown, RI seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Funeral Information

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Eldon will be held on Saturday February 11, 2006 at 10 am in the Christian Congregational Church 1411 County St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial is Private, CALLING HOURS AND FLOWERS ARE OMITTED.
