View Tribute and Sign Guestbook NEW BEDFORD – Jaime V. DaSilveira, 84, of New Bedford, died Monday, August 18, 2009, at the Southeastern MA Health and Rehab Center in New Bedford. He was the husband of the late Filomena (Rodrigues) DaSilveira. Born in Sedros, Flores, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose Lucio DaSilveira and the late Anna Vasconcelos.
He was a farmer in Portugal and enjoyed playing the guitar, writing and singing songs and writing poetry.
Mr. DaSilveira leaves a daughter, Arlette M. Oliveira and her husband Eduardo of New Bedford; a son, James A. Silveira of Waltham; five grandchildren, Eddie Oliveira, Jr., Jo Ann, Ian J., Mary-Beth and Christine Oliveira; and a longtime friend and companion, Maria Silveira, and many other relatives in California, Massachusetts and Portugal.
Funeral Information
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 21, 2009, at 10:30AM in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford. Arrangements are under the direction of THE DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford.
