View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON – William Holmes Taylor, 84, died at his Highland
Street home Monday, April 7, 2008. He was the husband of Barbara (Pierce) Taylor and the son of the later A. Raymond and Florence (Handford) Taylor.
He graduated from the Moses Brown School in Providence, RI, and from Yale University, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and a life member of The Mory’s Association of New Haven. He belonged to the Yale Association of Rhode Island.
A veteran of WW II, having served from 1943 to 1946 in the U. S. Army Air Corps, Mr. Taylor was stationed at the Hawaiian Air Depot at Hickam Field.
Mr. Taylor was engaged in the non-ferrous metal business for many years. Early in his career, he was in the 1950’s serving as Assistant Treasurer of the New England Brass Co. Later he became the Sales Manager of the Brass Rod Division of the Cambridge-Lee Metal Co of Boston. In 1969 Mr. Taylor joined the Princess House, Inc., of Dighton, and became Vice President of Sales Development and a member of the Board of Directors of Princess House. He retired in 1987.
He was a corporator and former member of the Board of Trustees of the Morton Hospital; former member of the Taunton Rotary Club; the Segregansett County Club; a corporator of the former Taunton Saving Bank; and a member of the Board of Directors of the Taunton Community Chest. He was a member of the Taunton Animal Shelter, Inc., and the Friends of the Taunton Public Library. He attended the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Taunton.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Taylor is survived by a son, Michael Taylor and his wife Vickie of Pocasset; and his two grandsons, Brian and David Taylor. He was the brother of the late Alberta Robinson.

By request his funeral and interment will be private, and will be held at the convenience of his family.
