SWANSEA – Carlton Myles Fisk, 100, of Swansea died Monday, December 8, 2008, at the Somerset Ridge Center. Born in Swansea, the son of the late Fred G. and Lizzy (Cady) Fisk, he was the husband of the late Edna (Craig) Fisk, to whom he was wed sixty years.

Mr. Fisk worked for the Berkshire Hathaway Company for many years as a clerk. He concluded his employment working for the Durfee family as a manger of their property in downtown Fall River, including the historic Durfee Theater.

Thorough out their lives, Mr. and Mrs. Fisk went on many extensive camping trips, which he recalled with great fondness. He reminisced particularly about their extensive trip throughout the western part of the country that they enjoyed shortly after their retirement. Driving until he was ninety-eight, Mr. Fisk would travel the length of the Cape every summer after his wife’s death and visit the spots that were most memorable to this very special couple. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Warren, Rhode Island.

He had lived independently in the family home that he and his father built fifty-six years ago until this past month. He could be seen most days taking care of his property, riding his tractor around a few acres of Fisk real estate. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and his good neighbors, the Smith and Ferreira families of Swansea. He was the brother of the late Mary Abbe Willhette, Ruth Elizabeth Duckworth, Dorothy Arnold Gardiner, and Helen Cady Simmons.
