ATTLEBORO – Arthur "Thomas" Bassis, 90, of Canterbury Woods, Garfield Avenue, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at his Attleboro residence.
Born in Attleboro, a son of the late Anastas & Zalier (Tsirley) Bassis, he was the husband of Dolores (Cuevas) Bassis.

Mr. Bassis served in the U. S. Army as a Private First Class during WII with the 37th Infantry. A resident of Attleboro for most of his life, with a periodic stay in California, Thomas was a self-employed electrician since 1949 until he retired.

Besides his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John Bassis, Demetrius Bassis, Constantine Bassis, Nicholas Bassis, Jeanne Peck, Erato Bassis, and Afriditie Haseotes

Funeral Information

His funeral service will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010, at 1:00pm in THE FOLEY - HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro, Massachusetts, with burial with Military Honors to follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 12:00noon – 1:00pm, prior to the start of the funeral.
