View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON – Joseph C. Mota, 58, died suddenly at his home on East Walnut St., Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Born in St. Michael, the Azores, the was the son of the late Jeremias and Hortencia (Pimentel) Mota, he was the husband of Maria Moto of Taunton.
A resident of Taunton for the past forty-three years, he was retired due to a disability, from Holiday Inn in Taunton, where he was a maintenance man. He was also retired from Swanks in Dighton where he worked for many years as a packer.
Mr. Mota enjoyed watching the Boston Bruins hockey team, playing dominos, listening to Portuguese music and watching sports on TV. He was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Taunton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Lynda Mota of Taunton. He was the brother of Mary Jo Lynch of Norton, Maria Mota and John Mota of Taunton and the brother of the late Octavio “Kevin” Mota.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Thursday, March 12, 2010, at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are omitted.
