View Tribute and Sign Guestbook DIGHTON – Christian "Chris" M. Silvia, 37, of Dighton, died Thursday, August 12, 2010, of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. Born in New Bedford, a son of Paul Silvia and the late Gail (Fields) Silvia, he was a graduate of the Dighton–Rehoboth High School.
Mr. Silvia worked as a Union Laborer for the Laborers International Union of North America, Local 610, for more than six years. A lifelong Dighton resident, Chris was an avid motorcyclist, enjoyed snowmobiles, dirt bikes, and tinkering with cars and motorcycles. He also enjoyed spending time with his daughter Alexandra.
Chris is survived by his father Paul Silvia and his wife Susan of Dighton, a sister, Chevvi Fossum and her husband Nathan of Fall River, and a daughter, Alexandra Lee Bobola of Rehoboth, MA. He also leaves a nephew, Erik Fossum, and a niece, Elizabeth Fossum. He was the grandson of Priscilla Davoll of Dartmouth. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was the grandson of the late Robert Fields, and the late Emily & Edward Silvia.
Funeral Information
His funeral will be held Friday, August 20, 2010, at 8:30 am from THE HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Bernard’s Church, 32 South Main Street, Assonet. Burial will follow in the Assonet Burying Ground Assonet. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Thursday, August 19, from 4:00–8:00pm in the funeral home.
