DIGHTON – Guy N. Ransley, 51, of Dighton, passed away Saturday, June14, 2008, at his residence, surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Albany, New York, the son of Russell D. and Ruth (Baker) Leonard, both of N. Dighton, he was the loving husband of twenty-eight years to Deborah (Haskins) Ransley.

A graduate of the Class of 1976 of Dighton-Rehoboth High School, Mr. Ransley was the co-owner of Shaw’s Boat Yard in Dighton for twenty-eight years. Mr. Ransley also earned his captain’s license several years ago. He lived his life to the fullest, and always had a smile. He enjoyed boating, skiing, and traveling, and was loved to the ozone!

In addition to his wife and his parents, Mr. Ransley leaves two daughters, Nicole Ransley of Berkley, MA, and Jessica Ransley of Dighton, MA; a sister, Gwen R. Selleck of Lyman, NH; two brothersm Thomas S. Ransley of Dighton, and Robert B. Ransley of Maine; two step-brothers, Doug Leonard of Assonet, MA, and Richard Leonard of Florida. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

His memorial service will be held Thursday, June 19, 2008, at 10:00AM in the Dighton Community Church, 2036 Elm St., Dighton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend by reporting DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Burial will be private. CALLING HOURS with VIDEO PHOTO ALBUM will be held Wednesday, June 18, in the HATHAWAY HOME for FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, from 4:00-8:00PM, to whom all funeral arrangements have been lovingly entrusted.
