View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON – Laurence J. Carroll, Jr., 70, died on March 4, 2007, in the Life Care Center of Raynham following a period of failing health. Born in Providence, the son of the late Laurence and Ellen Louise (Cunningham) Carroll, he was graduate of Immaculate Conception Grammar School and a 1954 graduate of Coyle Cassidy High School.
Mr. Carroll was a twenty-year member of the U. S. Air Force before retiring in 1975. Following his military career, Mr. Carroll enrolled in the Bristol-Plymouth School of Nursing, graduating in 1978. He worked as a nurse for the next fifteen years at the former Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton. He was former member of the VFW Post in Taunton, and was a member of the National Rifle Association, the America Motorcycle Association; the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association, and the Modified Motorcycle Association. He enjoyed reading; in his younger years was a cross-county car driver.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, Reiko (Kushi) Carroll of Taunton; two daughters, Mary Louise Finney and Rachel Anne Sanville, both of Taunton; a son, Laurence Carroll, III, and his wife Dayle of Norton; six grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, Ryan, Nicholas, Joey and Chelsea; and a sister, Kathleen Buscher of Illinois. He was the brother of the late Peter Carroll.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of the Annunciation of the Lord on THURSDAY, March 8, 2007, at 10:00AM. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00PM in the CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. ( Route 138 South), Taunton.
