Dora M. (Ling) Hackett

Dora M. (Ling) Hackett, 95, of Taunton, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, in Brockton. She was the wife of the late George L. Hackett.
Dora was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late George C. and Mabel (Griffith) Ling. She was educated in Pennsylvania and then graduated from Cambria Rowe Business College. Mrs. Hackett devoted her life to raising her family. Dora was a longtime member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church, in Taunton, also a member of the Old Colony Historical Society, the Morton Hospital Auxiliary and the Friends of Taunton Public Library.
Survivors are two daughters: Joan E. Giovino of Mansfield; Carol J. Murphy and her husband Robert of Merrimack, NH; two sons: Roger O. Hackett and his wife Loretta of Sebec, ME; and Thomas G. Hackett of Taunton; two grandchildren: Erin P. Wiggin and her husband Benjamin of Center Conway, NH and Anthony R. Giovino of Mansfield; two great grandchildren: Connor and Lydia.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Hackett will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 10am, in the Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A gathering will be held immediately following at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 45 Broadway, Taunton, MA 02780.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton.
