Elizabeth (Rose) Gilbert

NEW BEDFORD – Elizabeth (Rose) Gilbert, 70, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 13, 2009 in St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford. Born in Wareham, the daughter of the late Frank and the late Matilda (Pires) Rose, she was the wife of the late Daniel Gilbert, Sr., and a New Bedford resident for the past fifty years.

Elizabeth worked at Bush Cleaners before working at Building 19 from where she retired.

She leaves a son, Daniel Gilbert, Jr., of New Bedford; a daughter, Terry Gilbert of New Bedford; two brothers, Bob Rose of New Bedford and Peter Rose of Marion; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gilbert was the mother of the late Deborah Gilbert and sister of the late Ronald, David and Wayne Rose, Patricia Gomes and Marcia Monteiro.

Her funeral service will be Thursday, June 18, 2009, at 9:00AM in THE DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford. Interment will be private and calling hours are respectfully omitted.
