SOMERSET – Thomas Demarco, 88, of Somerset died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Carney) Demarco, he was the husband of Beatrice Demarco, with whom he shared sixty-eight years of married life.

Mr. Demarco was employed by Local 691 as a painter for over fifty years, retiring in 1986. A communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Fall River, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working with electronics, and playing Bocce and Cribbage.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Demarco leaves a daughter, Phyllis M. Preble and her husband Stephen of Somerset; four sons, Thomas Demarco of Maine, James Demarco and his wife Barbara of Somerset, Robert Demarco and his wife Nancy of Somerset, and William Demarco of Fall River; five grandchildren, Catherine, Richard, Cheryl, Sean, and Todd; seven great-grandchildren, Angela, Brendan, Allyson, Nicholas, Chase, Ryan and Andrew; and a great-great granddaughter, Hailey. He was the brother of the late Louis, Frederic, Nicholas, Henry, Francis, Harold, and Edward Demarco.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at 9:00AM from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Holy Rosary Church, 120 Beattie St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset. CALLING HOURS with VIDEO PHOTO ALBUM will be held TUESDAY from 4:00-7:00PM.
