View Tribute and Sign Guestbook RAYNHAM – William H. Heywood, Sr., 76, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010, in Morton Hospital, Taunton, following a lengthy illness. Born in Boston, the son of the late Charles and Harriett (Stubbs) Heywood, he was the husband of Joan (Bennett) Heywood of Raynham, with whom he shared a fifty-seven year marriage.
A resident of Raynham since 1958, coming from West Roxbury, he was a truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight for twenty-three years, and a member of the Teamster Union Local # 170. He also owned and operated the JBK Trucking Company.
He enjoyed hunting and trap/skeet shooting and spending time at his camp in Mercer, Maine. He was a member of the Taunton Rifle and Pistol Club.
In addition to his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Bill is survived by his children, William H. Heywood, Jr. , Glenn C. Heywood and Patty DaCosta, Lorri Wood and Woody, Jodi Heywood-Mello and Craig. Bill was also the grandfather of Bill, Jacob, Kerri, Jessi, Katy, Cody, Sam and Jake and was the great grandfather of three. He was the brother of Steven Heywood of West Roxbury, James Heywood of Red Hook, NY, and the late Charles F. Heywood.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service in the Pleasant Street, Cemetery, Raynham, Thursday, June 17, 2010, at 2:00 PM.
