Yvonne Galland, 102, of Highland Avenue, formerly of State Avenue in Tiverton, died on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at the Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River. Born in Amqui, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Desire and Marie (Boudreau) Galland.
Miss Galland came to Fall River when she was thirteen years old. She worked for forty-five years in various sewing shops in the city. She designed and made most of her own clothes. A member of Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton, she also enjoyed making home movies.
She leaves ten nieces and nephews, one sister-in-law, Florence Galland of Tiverton, RI. She was the sister of the late Marie Anne Galland, Bertha Fontaine, Alice Barette, Eugenie Minahan, Alma Caron, Leo, Phillippe, and Alexander Galland.
Funeral Information
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007, at 9:30AM in the Chapel of St. Margaret Mary, at the Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Avenue, Fall River. Friends and Relatives are invited to attend a calling period from 8:30 to 9:30AM, with services to follow. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Road, Fall River.
