SOMERSET – Annette A. (Desnoyers) DeMello, 84, of Somerset, passed away Monday, August 25, 2008, at her residence. Born in Glover, Vermont, the daughter of the late Gideon and Elizabeth (Santerre) Desnoyers, she was the wife of the late Antone DeMello.

Mrs. DeMello worked for the former Pearl Laundry in Fall River. She devoted her life to raising her family and was very involved and active with her children. She also provided childcare at her residence for many years. A communicant of Saint Louis de France Church, Mrs. DeMello was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality, a volunteer for church bingo, and a Marion Medal recipient. Mrs. DeMello was an original member of the Mother of Twins Club, and the Somerset High School Boosters. She was a Red Sox fan and loved dogs and animals.

Mrs. DeMello is survived by three daughters, Pauline Sardinha and her husband John of Somerset, Louise Carnahan of Somerset, who was also her caregiver, and Janice DeMello of Washington State; four sons, Antone DeMello, Jr., and his wife Gale of Estoro, FL, Donald DeMello of Somerset, Louis DeMello of Fall River, and George DeMello and his wife Susan of Taunton; a sister, Theresa Malicia of Fall River; two brothers, Raymond Desnoyers of Warwick, RI, Dominic Desnoyers of Virginia Beach, VA; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Gerald DeMello, the sister of the late Reginald Desnoyers, and the grandmother of the late Kathy and April DeMello.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Friday, August 29, 2008, at 9:00AM from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Saint Louis de France Church, 56 Buffinton St., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
