View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON – Cheryl Kay (Standish) Girard, 61, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in the Tufts Medical Center in Boston, following a long illness, with the members of her loving family at her side. Born in Tucson, Arizona, the daughter of George E. Standish, II, of Middleboro and the late Dorothy “Doll” (Frye) Standish, she was the wife of Robert Girard.
Raised in Middleboro, MA, she graduated with the Class of 1964 of Middleboro High School. Moving to Taunton twenty-seven years ago, Mrs. Girard worked for the Middleboro Trust Company, Maxim Motors, Edgewood Trust and Butler Automatic. She had been with the Hazeltine Corp., now BAE Systems, for the past twenty-five years. An active member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Taunton, Mrs. Girard had been involved with the Professional Secretaries Association. She enjoyed playing golf, knitting and doing needlework, but most of all, reveled in her grandchildren and family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Bari Lynn (Pattee) Williams and her husband Shawn of Taunton, Robin Gaspar and her husband Roger of Taunton; and sons, David Girard and Paul Girard, both of Taunton, and Michael Girard and his wife Linda of Taunton. She leaves her beloved grandchildren Chailyn Kay Williams, Tauri Cayna Williams, Shawn Robert Williams, Sebastian Herbert Williams and Leanna Girard. She was the sister of Dorothy L. Vaughan of Middleboro, and leaves several friends, nieces and nephews, including Lacey Jene (Pattee) Mosher, Sachary Wayne Mosher, and Samuel George Mosher, all of Middleboro. Cheri was also pre-deceased by her brother, George E Standish, III, and her son, Brain Girard.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends were invited to attend Visiting Hours previously. A memorial service for Mrs. Girard will be held in the Memorial United Methodist Church, 176 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at 10:00AM.
