John O. Johnson

January 23, 1923 - August 30, 2006

John O. Johnson, age 83, of 969 Park St. Attleboro, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 in the Life Care Center of Attleboro. He was the husband for over 50 years of the late Doris D. (Paradise) Johnson. He was born in Attleboro on January 23, 1923 a son of the late Carl and Karin A. (Johnson) Johnson.

He was a lifelong resident of Attleboro. Mr. Johnson had been a truck driver for the Swank Jewelry Company of Attleboro for many years before retiring. He had served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during WW II. He was an avid golfer and Stamp Collector.

He leaves one daughter Karin A. Waldron of Bristol RI. One step daughter Peggy Bender of Atoka, TN and two step sons Joseph Hearn of Mansfield, John Hearn of Boston. Three grandchildren and two great grand children and several nieces and nephews. He was the step father of the late David Hearn and the brother of the late Walter and Lyman Johnson.

Funeral Information

His Funeral will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 10 AM from THE FOLEY-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main St. (Route 152) in Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 683 South Main St. in the Village Dodgeville in Attleboro. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in the North Purchase Cemetery, 825 North Main St. Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may visit from 10 to 11 AM before Mass.
