Kenneth J. Estrella

FAIRHAVEN – Kenneth J. Estrella, 71, formerly of Fairhaven Village, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Alden Court Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph Estrella and the late Dorothy (Aragon) Simoes, he was the former husband of Yvonne (Wilkinson) Estrella of New Bedford and the companion of the late Dorothy Mareira.

Mr. Estrella settlled in Fairhaven in 1990. He worked in the construction industry and later as the service manager at Stan and Paul’s in Dartmouth. He was a member of the Salt Water Angler’s Club and the New Bedford Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Santos and her husband Scott of East Freetown; three sons, Kevin Estrella and his wife Joan and Keith Estrella and his wife Danielle, all of Dartmouth, and Kenneth Estrella, Jr., of New Bedford; a brother, Lester Hallet of Dartmouth; two sisters, Geraldine Norman of New Bedford and Patricia Mydlack of Acushnet; eight grandchildren: Dylan and Jessica Travers, Delaney and Travis Santos, Kylene Estrella, Alyssa and Cameron Pimentel and Joseph Morris; two great-grandsons, Chace Daniel Travers and Skyler Barker; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Estrella was the father of the late Mary Carol Travers.

Funeral Information

In accordance with his wishes, his remains will be cremated and memorial calling hours will be held Friday, March 27, 2009, from 4:00-8:00PM in THE FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven, with a funeral service at 7:00PM. Interment will be private.
