FALL RIVER – John J. Patota, 79, of Robeson Street, Fall River, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Peter and Laura (Dussault) Patota, he was married to Rosann (Barrett) Patota for fifty-six years. Mr. Patota served his country during WWII with the United States Navy, following which service he worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Division of Capital Planning and Development as a resident engineer for twenty-nine years before retiring several years ago. Mr. Patota was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Fall River, a member of the Sons of Italy, the Italian War Veterans, the Ceebee’s, and the Bricklayers Union Local 39. In addition to his wife, Mr. Patota is survived by four daughters, Nancy A. Belanger of Fall River, Meribeth Locke of Holliston, MA, Cynthia L. Iacovelli of Fall River, and Jane McPherson of Middletown, RI; two sons, Peter J. Patota of Duluth, GA, and Michael J. Patota of Sewanee, GA; a sister, Doris Gibson of Sparks, NV; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Emily, Andrew, Sam, Mary, Will, and Kate; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral InformationHis funeral will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at 9:00AM from the HATHAWAY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Holy Rosary Church, 120 Beattie St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow with MILITARY HONORS in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River.
