Grace Pacheco

May 26, 1915 - April 14, 2006

Grace (Braga) Pacheco, 90, of Mattapoisett died Friday, April 14, 2006 at her daughter's home in Marion. She was the wife of the late Leonard Pacheco, O.D.
Born May 26, 1915 in New Bedford the daughter of the late Jose and Ludvina (Figueiredo) Braga, she lived there until moving to Mattapoisett in 1957. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett.
Mrs. Pacheco was a homemaker. Prior to that, she worked for Pairpoint Glass Company.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Pacheco enjoyed family gatherings and watching her grandchildren play sports. She was an avid Red Sox fan.
She is survived by three daughters, Janet M. Rego and her husband Joseph of East Freetown, Audrey Chekares and her husband James of Westport, and Grace A. Smith and her husband Stephen of Marion; five grandchildren, Daniel Parker and his wife Karin, Christopher Parker and his wife Donna, Lori Labonte and her husband Eric, Audri Silveira and her husband Jeffrey, and Mark Chekares and his wife Jennie; seven great grandchildren, Marisa, Hunter, and Alexis Parker, Zakary, Tayber, and Jhett Labonte, and Chance Silveira; and a nephew, Bryon Faltus and his wife Lori and their three children, Jessica, Mallori, and Corey. She was the sister of the late Arthur and Olivia Braga and Elaine Faltus.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 9:00 AM from the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Mattapoisett. Calling hours are Tuesday 4-7 PM.
