Elizabeth M. Koneski

June 25, 1919 - February 17, 2007

DIGHTON – Elizabeth M. (Monteiro) Koneski, 87, of Elm St., Dighton, died Saturday, February 17, 2007, at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River after a lengthy illness. Born in Dighton on June 25, 1919, a daughter of the late John & Elizabeth (Rego Vital) Monteiro, she was the wife of Anthony Koneski.

A lifelong resident of Dighton, Mrs. Koneski worked in the Disbursing Office at the US Navy base in Newport for five years, and was later employed as a secretary in the Superintendent’s Office at the Standard Coil Company. Prior to retiring thirty years ago, Mrs. Koneski worked for the Fernandes Supermarkets. She was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church in Dighton.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Koneski is survived by her sons, Michael A. Koneski of Dighton, and twins, Steven M. Koneski of Dighton, and Brian J. Koneski of Norwich, CT.; a sister, Marcellina Zasmuta of Dighton; and four grandsons, Brad, Nathan, Joshua, Nicholas Koneski; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John Monteiro, Mickey Monteiro, Joseph Monteiro, Mary Gomes and the late Emilena Soroka.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Thursday, February 22, 2007, at 8:30AM, from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., SOMERSET, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Peter’s Church, Main St., Dighton, with burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
