View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TIVERTON, RI — Dorothy B. (Cavaca) Vibberts, 85, of Tiverton, RI, and Myrtle Beach, SC, died Wednesday October 7, 2009, at the Conway Medical Center in Conway, SC. Born in Tiverton, the daughter of the late Manuel and Marjorie (Chase) Cavaca, she was the wife of Wesley L. Vibberts, with whom she shared a sixty-two year marriage.
A graduate of the J.F. Wilbur School in Little Compton, RI, Mrs. Vibberts worked at Fort Adams as a clerk and then for the United States Postal Service at the Stone Bridge post office as a clerk for thirty-two years, retiring in 1979. Mrs. Vibberts was a member of the Amicable Congregational Church in Tiverton, RI. She was involved at one time as a choir member and Sunday school teacher in the church.
Dorothy was a charter member of Barn Owls Square Dance Club in Little Compton, RI. She was also a member of the homemakers club in Tiverton, located at the Four Corners, and the Social Rebekah Lodge # 11 in Little Compton, RI., and also sang with the Sugar Sticks Community Choir.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Vibberts leaves a daughter, Bonnie L. Blevins and husband James of Myrtle Beach, SC; Connie, Sally, Nancy, Mary Lou and many nieces and nephews; three beloved grandchildren, Carlton, William, Matthew and his wife Andrea Shutt; eight great grandchildren, Rebecca, Russell, Matthew, Manuel Nathan, Lauren, Austin, and Wesley, a great-great grandchild, Julian Troy; step-grandchildren, Michael Blevins, Lisa Halcomb, and the late David Blevins; step-great-grandchildren, Kaycee Halcomb, Logan, Katlynn and Anthony Blevins.
Funeral Information
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 12, 2009, at 3:00PM in the Amicable Congregational Church, 3736 Main Rd., Tiverton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
