Priscilla Jane (Grout) Adams

DIGHTON – Priscilla Jane (Grout) Adams, 82, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, in Morton Hospital in Taunton. Born in Andover, MA, a daughter of the late John and Louise (Gilbert) Grout, she was the wife of the late Clarence W. Adams, Jr.

Mrs. Adams was employed as a LPN at the Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton, the Taunton State Hospital for over twenty-two years, and at the Dighton Nursing Home for over twenty-five years. She was a member of the Dighton Unitarian Church. A lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post 2094 in Dighton, she also enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting.

Mrs. Adams leaves her children, Nancy Tavares of North Dighton, Edith Lawrence and her husband Joseph of Dighton, Robert W. Adams and his wife Susan Gustafson of Dighton, George Adams of Fall River, and the late Staff Sgt. David Adams, U. S. Army. She also leaves nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was the sister of James Fernald of Buxton, MA, and Richard Grout of Quincy, MA, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday evening, March 13, 2008, from 5:00-8:00PM in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton. A memorial service will begin at 7:15PM during the Visiting Hours in the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family.
