View Tribute and Sign Guestbook ATTLEBORO – Veronica L. (Hvizda) Kotch, 92, of Pleasant St., Attleboro, died Monday, January 4, 2010, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Born in Mt. Carmel, PA, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Tkac) Hvizda, she was the wife of the late Paul R. Kotch, Sr.
Mrs. Kotch was a homemaker. A resident of Attleboro since 1974, coming from Mt. Carmel, PA, she was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Church, and a Eucharistic minister at Holy Ghost for the members confined to their homes. She was active in Sr. Citizens groups, liked poetry, and playing cribbage. She was a volunteer at the poll booths. She was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society for St. Joseph Church in Mr. Carmel, PA. She was also the president of the Residents Council at Golden Living Place.
Mrs. Kotch is survived by a son, Paul R. Kotch, Jr., of Attleboro; two daughters, Sylvia Messina of Richmond, VA, and Virginia Sherry of Boyertown, PA. She was one of thirteen children and is survived only by two brothers, George Hvizda of Rio Rancho, NM, and Andy Hvizda of Denville, NJ; and a sister, Helen Yankowski of NJ; and many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of eight and the great-grandmother of ten.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be held Friday, January 8, 2010, at 9:00am from THE FOLEY-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Holy Ghost Church, 71 Linden Street, Attleboro. Cremation will follow the Mass. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held Friday morning from 9:00-10:30am in the funeral home.
