Born in Westport, MA, where she spent her early years before moving to Fall River, she eventually settled in Somerset, where she spent most of her life.
Mrs. Chadburn helped raise a brother and two sisters, due to the early death of their parents. She married the late James Lane Chadburn, with whom she raised their three children, while working in the needle trade industry for some twenty-four years, retiring in 1977 from the former Stylerite Manufacturing Company in Fall River. Mrs. Chadburn was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of Somerset and a member of its Women’s League. She also volunteered in the Blood Bank in her earlier years.
Mrs. Chadburn’s late husband, James, died in July 1980, and their son, Allan James Chadburn, died many years ago, as a result of injuries suffered in a boating accident. She leaves a sister, Bertha Mele; two daughters, Carolyn Francis and Janice Ziomek; eight grand children, James & Joseph Chadburn, Paul & Peter Montigny, Lorie Walsh, Christopher & Michael Ziomek, & Allison Esvelt.
