SOMERSET – Lloyd G. Schraer, 83, of County Street, Somerset, died on Saturday, November 3, 2007, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Harry & Fanny (Gaylor) Schraer, he was the husband of Joan (Dube) Schraer, to whom he was married for more than fifty-five years. Mr. Schraer was a U. S. Army Disabled Veteran, who served in WWII as an interpreter and a tank driver in the 3rd Armored Division, holding the rank of Private First Class. He was a graduate of Bryant College with a B.S. in Economics in Business. Mr. Schraer was employed as a salesman for the Robinson Plumbing Supply Company for over thirty-five years, before he semi-retired. He made his home in Somerset for fifty-five years, coming from Fall River and originally from Brooklyn, New York. He was active in many business trade organizations. He loved early music, was an avid reader, and will always be remembered as a good man. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah & Ronald Marino of Dighton, MA. He was the brother and brother-in-law of William D. & Beverly Schraer, Ph.D., of Middletown, New York. He was the uncle of Lyn Joiner of New Jersey, and the loving grandfather of Mark Marino and Ross Marino. He was the brother of the late Mayer Schraer. Funeral InformationHis funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2007, at 10:00AM in THE HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 5:00–8:00PM. Burial will be private.
