George Harris

ATTLEBORO – George Harris, 96, died Friday, January 18, 2008, in the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, a son of the late William and Mary (Turner) Harris, he was the beloved husband of Iris L. (Cote) Harris, with whom he shared fifty-five years of marriage.

A lifelong resident of Attleboro, Mr. Harris served with the U. S. Army during WW II, and was a member of the Gilbert Perry Post VFW, He was employed as a foreman for the former Mossberg Pressed Steel Company of Attleboro for more than forty years before he retired in 1976.

Besides his wife, Mr. Harris leaves one brother, Melvin of Prince Edward Island, Canada; and one sister, Daisy Moore of Attleboro; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Norman, Albert, Turner, Charles and Ivy Harris and Ellie Boyer and Celina Tanner.
