View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FALL RIVER – Jacqueline M. (Stanton) Selleck, 78, of Fall River died Saturday, December 13, 2008, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Dauphinais) Stanton, she was the former wife of the late George A. Selleck.
A graduate with the Class of 1947 of BMC Durfee High School, Mrs. Selleck also graduated from the Bristol Community College with a degree in mental health. She worked for the former New England Telephone Company as a repair representative, for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1994. After retiring, she worked as a receptionist at the Truesdale Clinic in Fall River for thirteen years.
She was a communicant of Holy Name Church in Fall River, a member of the Westport Yacht Club, and also a member of the Humane Society, being an ardent animal enthusiast. Mrs. Selleck enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was an avid New England Patriots fan.
Mrs. Selleck leaves two daughters, Kelley M. Selleck of Fall River and Carolyn M. deBeauport of Mansfield, MA; two sons, George A. Selleck, Jr., of Stowe, VT, and Paul S. Selleck of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Evelyn Lavoie and Marjorie McHenry, both of Fall River; two brothers, Thomas Stanton of Fall River and Russell Stanton of Melbourne, FL; her loving grandson, Christian, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at 10:30AM from THE HATHAWAY HOME for FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours with Video Photo Album will be held Tuesday, December 16, from 5:00-8:00PM in the funeral home.
