Ferris J. Ganem

SOMERSET – Ferris J. Ganem, 64, of Buffinton St., Somerset, died Saturday, August 7, 2010, at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Joseph & Mary (Thomas) Ganem, he was the former husband of Frances Durfee.

Mr. Ganem was the owner-operator of Joe’s Family Restaurant in Fall River for over eighteen years. A lifelong Somerset resident, he was a parishioner of St. Anthony of the Desert Church in Fall River. Ferris was also a Boston Red Sox Fan, while enjoying spending time at Foxwoods.

He is survived by a son, Joseph Ganem of Assonet, MA; two daughters, Margaret Bishop and Tammie Martin, both of Berkley, MA, two sisters, Roseanne Terry of Florida and Joanne Ganem of Somerset. He was the grandfather of Aaron, Allyson Bishop, Erika, Hailey Martin, and Ava Ganem, and the brother of the late John Ganem.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at 8:30 am from THE HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony of the Desert Church, 300 North Eastern Avenue, Fall River, with burial to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 10, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm in the funeral home in Somerset.
