View Tribute and Sign Guestbook EAST TAUNTON – Fred A. Patrick, Sr., 87, died in Morton Hospital in Taunton Thursday, March 5, 2009. Born in Turkey Knob, West Virginia, the son of the late Robert and Theresa Patrick, he was the husband of the late Emily (Furtado) Patrick.
Educated in West Virginia schools and a U. S. Army veteran of WW II, having served with General Patton in Europe, as a young man of seventeen, he was assigned by the CCC to go to Colorado to assist with the building of roads. For more than forty years he was a silversmith at Reed and Barton in Taunton. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Patrick was the father of Fred A. Patrick, Jr., and his wife Evelyn of East Taunton, and the grandfather of David Patrick and his wife Kate and Kelly Goulart and her husband Ken, all of Berkley. He was the great-grandfather of four and the brother of Audrey Young, Jean Clemmer, Eva Graham, Reva Seldonridge, Vivian Ballenvee, and Judy Crook, all of WV, Kenneth Patrick of NY, and Danny Patrick of FL; as well as the uncle of several. He was also the brother of two sets of twins who predeceased him, Mary and Rexford Patrick and Alvin and Ira Patrick.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral from THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, Tuesday, March 10, 2009. at 9:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Church, East Taunton at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Visiting hours will be held Monday, March 9, from 4:00-7:00PM in the funeral home.
