NEW BEDFORD – Leo J. Lague, Sr., 63, of Acushnet, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, in St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford. He was the former husband of Francine (Wise) Dresner. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Leo Lague and the late Theresa E. (Martin) Schick, he lived most of his life in Acushnet and was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Acushnet.

Mr. Lague was the proprietor of Pilot House Scrimshaw of Wareham. He served in the U. S. Navy and later in the U. S. Army as a paratrooper during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the DAV Chapter #7 of New Bedford, the VFW and the American Legion.

Mr. Lague is survived by three sons, Daniel J. Lague of Acushnet and Leo, Jr., and Scott Lague, both of Williamstown, NJ; a brother, Michael T. Lague of New Bedford; and a grandson, Scott Lague, Jr.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be held on Monday, July 23, 2007, at 8:00AM from the DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in St. Francis Xavier Church in Acushnet. Interment with Military Honors will follow the Mass in Acushnet Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00-7:00PM.
