George E. Jones

View Tribute and Sign Guestbook George E. Jones, 78 years old, died on July 1, 2006 in the New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital. Born in Fall River, son of the late Edwin and Sybil (Cushman) Jones. He was the husband of 52 years of Jean (Norton) Jones.
Mr. Jones was 1945 graduate of Dighton School and a WW II US Army Veteran serving in Adak, Alaska from 1946 to 1948. He was a stock car Racing Owner and lead mechanic in Hallendale, FL from 1954 to 1955 and in Lonsdale, RI through 1964. He founded the Westville Garage on Winthrop St., Taunton in 1955 and he acquired the John Deere dealership in 1964 which he and his family operate now.
His memberships and companion of Grand Royal Arch Chapter Grand Council & Select Masters of MA since 1969; Noble of Mystic Shrine in Aleppo Temple of Boston since 1971 and from 1970 to present, a member of the King David Lodge, Attleboro Council, Grand Council of Master Masons. Since 1990 a member of the Southeastern Massachusetts Farm Bureau.
Besides in wife Jean, he leaves 2 daughters, Keri L. Jones and her husband Steven of Taunton and Kimberly J. Paull and her husband Patrick of Berkley and 4 grandchildren, Jared and Stephanie Jones and Emma and Alexander Paull.
Funeral Information
A Funeral Service will be held in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave, (Route 138 South) Taunton on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 1 PM. Visiting hours are on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 from 3-8 PM. Interment will be in Fox Cemetery, Berkley, MA.
