View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FAIRHAVEN – Gaston L. Bellefeuille, 90, of Fairhaven, died Monday, August 18, 2008, at the Alden Court Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Fairhaven after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Therese G. (Benoit) Bellefeuille. Born in Quebec, Canada, the son of the late Reza and the late Zelpha (Noel) Bellefeuille, he grew up in New Bedford lived in Fairhaven for the past sixty-three years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven.
A graduate of New Bedford High School, Mr. Bellefeuille worked as an office manager at the New Bedford Wire and Iron Works. He later worked at New Bedford Vocational High School as an assistant instructor. He enjoyed gardening and also made his own maple syrup. He was also known for telling great stories.
He is survived by two sons, Richard G. Bellefeuille and his wife Diane of Mattapoisett, and Alan J. Bellefeuille and his wife Claudia of Springfield, VA; a daughter, Anne T. Delaney and her husband Michael of Fairmont, WV; a brother, John Bellefeuille of South Dartmouth; four sisters, Martha Thomasset, Gertrude Robidoux, Rita Silva and Jacqueline McCormick, all of New Bedford; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bellefeuille was the grandfather of the late John Alan Stec and the brother of the late Eddy, Armand, H. George and Charles Bellefeuille, Beatrice Gelinas, Marie J. Langevin and Simone Dumas.
Funeral Information
His funeral will be held Thursday, August 21, 2008, at 9:00AM from THE FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Mattapoisett. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 20, from 5:00-8:00PM.
